From Byker Grove, Pop idol and Celebrity get me out of here Ant and Dec had a lot of reputation to lose from the move of television to film. Being household names many fans have gone to watch this film purely because Ant and Dec star as the main characters. I for one am a fan of the comedy duo and was expecting the laughs to come by the barrel loads. Although I found parts of the film amusing I wouldn’t say it was side splittingly funny.
I watched this film with an open opinion, as I had heard mixed reviews before hand. Basically Ray Santilli (Declan Donnelly) and Gary Shoefield (Ant McPartlin) are friends who have the evidence that other life forms exist in the universe and the film follows the story of who they came across the amazing discovery. The storyline keeps you going throughout the film constantly wondering if this is finally the big break Ray is searching for.
The film is based on true events, which many didn’t realise and I thought that Ant and Dec played the roles extremely well, though I hope this doesn’t mean that they will neglect their television careers. Still an enjoyable film to watch once is enough though. What will you think? The verdict is out there……….
